Portraits.

Hello and welcome to another blog. This is going to be the one where I discuss the portrait ideas I have and what I’d like to do. I would like to say a special “hello” if you’ve been directed here to seek out further info.

First things first; a little backstory. I love making portraits, I used to make lots of them, every day, as part of the job, However, as that type of work has slowed and I’ve changed roles I haven’t made many in a number of years, and as I’ve relaunched NathanPhoto with the view of making more work, I’d like to do some up-to-date portraits. Now I’ve asked a few people I know and its looking good but thought I would put a shout out to see if anyone else would be interested? If you’re here then I’m guessing you might be? 

Long story short is that I’m looking to make some portraits of people in 2025. Location based pictures of people being people. Updating pictures that I did a while ago such as these:

If you’ve read down to here, I’m guessing that you may have questions? I’ll try to answer the classic ones here, hopefully this will give you the info to see what I’m trying to do but if you have any others, then please let me know and I’ll do my best to answer them.

Why?

I’m relaunching NathanPhoto after a small hiatus, I’m doing this via the websites, folio and Go-Sees. I’m looking for more work in portrait and documentation style work and maybe some others. The people bit of my folio is a little older than I would like as I’ve not photographed anyone that I can publish for a while.

What?

I’m looking for people to put in front of my lens to show my skillset and hopefully get some work. I’m making images in a range of styles, between classic headshots to environmental portraits, to natural and flashlight to something abstract. Anyone can get involved and you can use the pictures for whatever you’d like to do with them. I do hope that we can both get something we can use from the shoot.

How?

I don’t see the shoots taking hours as we’ll have discussed the idea and I don’t want to take up too much of people’s time, my style back then was getting a few portraits in a short period of time. I think I will either be making them in a comfortable space for you or on location somewhere.

When?

I can fit round you and your schedules, I’m pretty flexible with that at the moment.

Where?

I’m based near central Manchester so thinking of the spaces around there, Castlefield, Northern Quarter, Ancoats etc. I can travel too so let me know where is good for you. 

Anything else?

Also looking at some possible reshoots. Have I made a picture of your previously and are you looking to make another? I may do a Ginga project reshoot? The Ginga project for those who don’t know was a project I did in 2012, on people with ginger hair called “Ginga” which got a lot of traction in Manchester. It would be great if anyone who was involved then, would like another shoot now.

Monies?

Things work differently now so of course so talk to me and let me know what your thoughts are on this.
